When I think of "square pie" charts, I think of the 10x10 grid of squares, where each square in the grid is colored to show the percentages of the chart's categories.

This is a new interpretation of "square pie" chart, and takes the use of areas to convey values, already not very effective, to new depths. It may be creative, but a little creativity goes a long way, often in the wrong direction.
